D.J’s

A little about myself … I will try to keep it brief.
At the age of 13, I bought my first so called “stentor”, what an experience it was to walk to the corner of the street and still be received on the radio, but obviously it had a strong hum and was just about to be heard from 104 to 108mhz of course. Soon I wanted to create my first real radio program and i sent a demo to a well-known station called radio Cuna in Zoetermeer at 95.2mhz. To my surprise, I could immediately start with a few exercises together with DJ’s Eric van der Meer and John vd Velde and made my first “non-stop” programs. After about one year at Cuna, radio Groeistad came back into the air and that was a very impressive hard-signal at 98.5mhz. Soon I decided to switch to Groeistad and got there on the Saturday afternoon with a program called Groeistad-Mixage which later moved to Groeistad’s second station called Groeistad-danceable at 100.7mhz, but this last project was of very short duration.
After Groeistad and several other stations like Radio Stad Den Haag, the legendary station Radio Centraal 92.2 came back to life in 1992. Here it was primarily making non-stop programs but later i did a program together with Peter Den Hertog called 3-talo as a sidekick, this program was produced in collaboration with Eddie from Italian Import Records at the Westeinde in The Hague. In 1995 we started a new project called Super-106 in Zoetermeer but that was due to the fanatical attitude of the authorities granted a very short life. Then finally in 1996 i switched to TrendFM, those days broadcasting from the Hague on FM. My musical preference has always been Italo/soul/funk/electro, and as the format of TrendFM has always been a perfect mix of these, it suited me perfectly. Now the FM era has had its longest days, TrendFM is back in full glory and you are now able to listen to it via the medium of the future and hope that we may do so for many years to come…
